Currently, Waving Fish does not operate a commercial winery, but we have produced some award winning amateur wines. Our dry red Cynthiana has won white ribbons and our dry white Muscadine has won red ribbons at the Arkansas State Fair two years in a row! Both of these wines were made from grapes grown right here in Arkansas. We have also received a bronze medal for our 2007 Mustang wine in the American Wine Society’s national competition.
In 2011, we were able to create our first estate grown wine from Waving Fish Cynthiana grapes. We look forward to seeing how this wine evolves over time.
Making wine can truly enhance your appreciation of wine and make you a participant in an activity that our civilization has practiced for thousands of years.
Soon, we hope to offer workshops to teach folks how to make their own wine from readily available ingredients and equipment. If you’re interested in learning how to make your own wine, send us an email and we’ll let you know when classes are forming. |
